The book is influenced by the sculptures of Calder in Lionni was a friend.
The book tells the story of the Little Blue and Little Yellow. One day, embracing, both become green. Back home, families reject them because they do not recognize them anymore. Taken to be discouraged, the two friends are crying so much to recover all its color. Moms and dads, happy to have found their kids will embrace and in turn, become green!
